Latest News Update: Spring Open Shoot The Fermoy Rifle Club Committee would like to thank all for a great turnout for our Spring Open shoot yesterday. The weather was very kind to us and a great day was had by all. There was a variety of disciplines shot on the day and some impressive scores achieved. The Benchrest shooters obviously did not have a problem with the light winds and put in some high scoring targets in the Sporting, LV and HV. Well done guys. On our Pistol Range, Michael had arranged a Precision competition for both small bore and centre fire. At both 15mtr and 25mtr, a 20 shot competition was shot “single handed”, not like Michael to make it easy, but enjoyable! Thanks Michael. On our Precision Rifle and Pistol Range, we had a 1500 Precision Rifle, T&P1 Precision Rifle, a 60 shot Precision Rifle and a 50mtr Precision Rifle in both small bore and centre fire. It was great to have some of our benchrest guys come down and have a go at out 50mtr Precision. Standing unsupported is a bit of a change from sitting guys eh!!, but was good fun. Last but not least, Paddy arranged a Prone competition which was a welcome come back for some of our members. We also had the pleasure of a National Champion shooting with us. Welcome back Bernadette. And of course, we cannot leave out the FRC barbeque. Chef Pat Grimes cooked up some great burgers and sausages which were greatly appreciated, and our Baker, Gerry Conway had some lovely homemade scones and bread, thanks guys, we will let you come again J Once again, thanks to all for a great day and we will keep you posted on out next shoot which will be coming soon.
