Handgun ownership in Ireland has rocketed since 2004 and
with rising gun crime the government
plans to tighten gun ownership laws in 2009.
But will tighter gun controls really lessen crime,
and will farmers and those who enjoy shooting as a sport,
be unfairly targeted by tighter guns laws?
Helen Carroll visits Fermoy Rifle club in Cork to meet some
of their members including local farmer James Murphy who are worried that
tighter legislation will impact on their sport
